OT Update because I know you’re all dying to know

Well, the people down the street with the inflatable Christmas decorations still have all the “dead” decorations adorning their yard. The saddest one is Santa and his reindeer dangling over the edge of the roof of their garage. And then there’s poor Frosty flopped over their fence like he’s been impaled. They probably have 10 or 12 deflated decorations swaying in the wind.

Thanks for the update! What in the world? I wonder if they even inflate after being exposed to the elements for so long.

Our neighbor had his October pumpkin on his front porch until last week. My kids and I have been taking bets about how long he’d leave it. It held up remarkably until about two weeks ago, when it suddenly deflated and oozed down his steps.

I chuckle over this thread. I had a friend way-back-when who would put so many of them on her front lawn. It was so crowded that they had to be careful not to trip over the wiring. The concept was rather new at the time; I didn't know the term was "inflatables". I would ask her: are you putting up your blow-up dolls on the lawn again this year. She would get so angry with me, but then we'd laugh. "They're called inflatables!"

Terry, I was a little worried about that initially, too, but I’ve seen cars come and go.

It's so windy here that everyone has to deflate their seasonal inflatables daily or else they'll just blow away.

People gripe about HOA's. They do usually keep a neighborhood looking better.

When those deflated ornaments are sprawled all over the lawn, I can't help but picture them in the middle of the night having a party that ended in a drunken brawl and now they're all passed out.

Seriously, that is rude to the neighbors, not to mention damaging to their investment in the ornaments and their lawn.
