I haven’t ever dropped them but I have worried about it. I have rubber flooring so that has lessened my worry a bit. I stand well away from anything that might get hit on the off chance they slip.
I would recommend not wearing gloves though. They could actually be slicker than your bare hands. Going outside is recommended by some kettlebell instructors especially if you’re learning hand-to-hand moves. There’s also chalk for your hands but that is so messy. |

My hands get extremely sweaty when I use kettlebells. Several years ago I bought a block of chalk. I agree with cjayd - chalk can be messy if it's the loose kind. I remember back in the day when trainers would say to totally load up your hands with chalk, but that can actually cause blisters. I just do a couple of swipes with the block of chalk across my palms and then rub my hands together like I'm putting on lotion. It's just enough to soak up the sweat and although I do need to reapply often, it helps stop that slippery feeling and prevents blisters.
