aerobic shoes with wide toe box

I mean really wide toe box. I have severe arthritis and deformed toe bunions that make the regular shoes almost impossible to wear. I have been wearing my Ryka Stylus shoes bought in 2001 because I can't find anything comparable! (I use a Birkenstock insole which helps extend the life of the shoe!)

I need a solid mid to high cut aerobic dance shoe with a WIDE toe box. I can't find anything out there in real stores or online comparable to these old style aerobic shoes.

Any leads? THANKS!

You might look into the aerobic shoes sold by Earth Shoes (here's an example). I know some people complain about some of the Earth models because they say the toe box is too wide. My mom always gets SAS shoes and even then has to have them stretched by the store somehow because of past toe problems (several broken ones) that didn't heal well. She swears by those.

I am a diabetic with diabetic feet (obviously), so I am very careful with my shoe buying. New Balance are a fav among diabetics because they design shoes with wide toe boxes.
I was looking online, and I couldn't find a specific "aerobics" NB shoe for you. I do a lot of step aerobics, and I use a cross trainer. It's not cut high, though, as I've never had a problem with that. Cross trainers are designed for greater lateral stability, so maybe you don''t need as high a cut if you have a cross trainer? Just thinking aloud...

I need wide toe boxes and the only closed shoes I can ever wear are Reebok walkers in wide and SAS. I've tried New Balance, I've tried everything. Maybe it's the part of your foot that needs more room? I can't have shoes touching my outside toes/little toes, or I get corns. Blech.

I splurged $130 on the new SAS fitness shoe this spring and even its toe box is a bit too narrow. I'm bummed. Usually SAS is a sure thing with my feet.
