Is the "no diet talk" rule still in effect?

🤔🤔

Just looked at the guidelines. They haven't changed.

Can that be potentially reviewed?

Although I don't post often I find all of you ladies quite knowledgeable on posts concerning medical issues along with fitness.

I really would appreciate insight into nutrition from everyone here. Fitness and diet/nutrition are so often intertwined as well.

Maybe a modification to discuss nutrition and not necessarily diet?

Just a thought.

I see your point. I am going to respectfully disagree.

I think that diet (and nutrition) is so controversial. It's almost like a religion. Lots of extremes. You'll hear from the vegans, the carnivores, and everyone else in between.

I am someone who gets concerned for people asking medical advice on the internet. Again, you're going to get a wide range of answers that may or may not align with your own health philosophy. Health care can also be divisive.

I think that this is the best site for asking questions about fitness in general, and specifically video workouts.

VF sometimes bends the rules with general discussions of say, the amount of protein for muscle growth or nutrition ideas for bone health.

I really, really don't want to get in to "diet" talk. It can get more heated than religion or politics!

I mean, who wants to listen to my rant about how skipping breakfast is The Worst Idea in the History of the World?

Nobody!

No diet or “nutrition” talk, please no no no. I will add another “really” to the “really, really don’t want diet talk” to VVFer's post. I also agree with JackieB that the discussions can get WAY too controversial and I sure don’t want to put any more burden on the generous people who are busy enough trying to keep VF alive and kicking!

JMHO, of course.

I think talking about diet can be very controversial.

I'm studying a Nutrition course. The first day our teacher told me: "Take everything that you're going to learn in the course with a grain of salt. The are no two nutrition experts that agree in everything".

I don't mind if someone asks for recommendations for a certain product or favorite snack for before, during or after a workout. But no, I really wouldn't want to open the floodgates on all out diet discussions.
