The "Everything Leslie Sansone" thread :)
Hi everyone
Seems like we have been getting a lot of Leslie threads lately, so I thought it might be time for a round-up. I will begin by answering some general questions, then provide the usual Parade-O-Links ---------- 1) Who is Leslie Sansone? What kind of workouts does she teach? Leslie Sansone is a video instructor who teaches ‘walk aerobics’ which are, in essence, floor aerobics routines based on walking steps. The choreography is simple but a few of the workouts are more intense. Leslie is known for measuring her workouts by ‘miles’and a counter will often pop up on screen at periodic intervals to show the viewer what ‘mile’ they are at. Generally, the one-mile workouts are about 15 minutes; two-mile about half an hour; 3-mile about 45 minutes and the few four-mile ones about an hour. Leslie usually sells her workouts in infomercial kits produced by Goodtimes. They have one, two and three mile tapes, plus a gadget. These were as follows: Walk Away the Pounds had weighted balls Walk Away the Pounds for Abs had a stretchie belt Walk Away the Pounds Express had a stretchie band Walk Blaster had a ramping step With the exception of the Walkblaster, which requires the ramp, the other sets can all be modified if one does not have the required equipment. Leslie also has some stand-alone workouts. Some of these were add-ons to the above kits and some are older workouts that have been re-released recently on DVD. It will be fairly simple to find Leslie titles used on VHS or in stores on DVD. Amazon and Collage have many Leslie choices. Leslie has a biography on Collage Video. It lists her certifications as certified by ACSM and Cooper Institute for Aerobic Research and member of IDEA and ACSM. You can read it here: http://collagevideo.com/cart/instruc...Leslie+Sansone ---------- 2) What workouts are currently available? I will limit this discussion to DVD since that is what most of us are using right now and since the new titles are available in this format. You have the following choices: Older re-releases (walking) Older re-releases (toning) The infomercial kits Newer toning workouts Walkblaster Ramping workouts The following thread has an index of all Leslie workouts currently on DVD: http://forum.videofitness.com/showthread.php?t=60083 The VF Index of reviews for Leslie Sansone is here: http://www.videofitness.com/instructors/sansone.php You can also read reviews and general comments in the following forum threads: Not much buzz on Leslie’s You Can Do [toning] workouts http://forum.videofitness.com/showthread.php?t=55664 Leslie's Walk & Kick/Walk & Jog http://forum.videofitness.com/showthread.php?t=60374 And on the Walkblaster kit: The Walkblaster Kit (General discussion) http://forum.videofitness.com/showthread.php?t=55824 The Walkblaster Kit (Infomercial discussion) http://forum.videofitness.com/showthread.php?t=55864 Leslie Sansone Ramp info http://forum.videofitness.com/showthread.php?t=55727 My Leslie Ramp arrived today http://forum.videofitness.com/showthread.php?t=57003 ---------- 4) Where can I find Leslie Sansone rotations? This thread has links to a 6-week plan in Women’s Day Magazine: http://forum.videofitness.com/showthread.php?t=47636 A mixed intensity Leslie rotation: http://forum.videofitness.com/showthread.php?t=60721 And suggestions from several VFers: http://forum.videofitness.com/showthread.php?t=44172 Finally, this website has a few: http://www.fitnessvideofanatics.com/...tions/keep.fit ---------- 5) What other projects is Leslie involved in? Leslie teaches classes in a studio and has a book coming out. She also runs a pay ‘club’ off her website. This VF thread had more info on that: http://forum.videofitness.com/showthread.php?t=43837 This thread also has information about Leslie selling equipment: http://forum.videofitness.com/showthread.php?t=44631 |
