Ooh, I didn't realize there was a sequel - will do!

I recommended this for my book club a few years back. It's scary and ominous. We had quite the discussion.

Thanks for the reminder; my sister said the same thing. I just put it on hold at the library site, at least 6 months...

I finished Billy Summers by Stephen King that I could not put down, read his Colorado Kid that I thought was meh, and now I'm really enjoying Joyland. I'm about half way through. It's Fair season where I live so the setting is perfect!

We lost our power for almost 24 hours in the aftermath of the remnants of Ian. Fortunately, that's all the problems we had, there wasn't other destruction. Anyway, I got a lot of reading done. I've been reading:

- Where the Sky Begins by Rhys Bowen. I loved this book and pretty much inhaled it.

- War of the Roses: Bloodline by Conn Iggulden. I like this series and this book seems to be the best of it so far.

- The Girl From the Savoy by Hazel Gaynor. I'm not too far into this, but so far it's pretty good. I like the characters.

Glad you're okay, Laura. Power outages are a great time to catch up on reading!

We did too, Laura. That’s the longest I’ve had power out in my 16 years in this house. I ended up tossing all my dairy (I had so much yogurt in the fridge, waaaah). Today, we ended up taking a mini trip over to Apex to let the phones charge in the car and to eat something warm.

I finished The Handmaid's Tale; I really liked it, although the ending was a bit ambiguous.
