Thanks for your review Carol. I bought this as a kindle book and I'm enjoying it. It's written in a different way but so descriptive! You can almost visualize what's going on. I hope the movie is just as good!

Ugh, my to read pile has really grown of late! I went to 3 different used book sales in about a 1-month period. I have lots of great stuff but no time to read! I don't mind putting aside the novels for later (I pick those up to read whenever I have time), but I have a bunch of books on yoga and Buddhism that I would like to get to.
So, I have a lot of half-read books at present: *Revolution of the Soul by Seane Corn - half memoir, half yoga self-help *The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri - just started this b/c my friend recommend the author, but only read a tiny bit; I might switch over to her short story book Interpreter of Maladies which my friend lent to me *In Defense of Elitism by Joel Stein - I got this to review and want to start soon! I probably have other half-finished books out there, LOL.

I haven't finished anything recently because I am reading too much news. I did start Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee while I was on vacation.
I took The Nickel Boys out of the library as it is my book group's selection for next month. Fortunately it is not long because it is a 14 day book. Gotta get started on it. |

I'm reading City of Lies by Victoria Thompson. I so love her Gaslight Mystery series that I wasn't sure if I would enjoy this newer one, but it's pretty good so far.
Christmas in Cornwall by Marcia Willett is kind of slow-moving, but I'm enjoying it so far. Those are both library books. On the Kindle app, I'm reading... I'm also reading the Oysterville Sewing Circle by Susan Wiggs and have read through it pretty quickly. I'm also reading Graceling (the Kindle version is free to Prime members) and have really enjoyed it. Alison - I decided to try this series and The Thief series and I really like them both. Thanks for the recommendations.

I finished Kate DiCamillo's The Tale of Despereaux last night. After I saw the "Stories are light" quote from the book on Facebook, I had to know the back story!
Other recent reads or attempts at reading:
Lots of ebooks on hold at the library just waiting for my inbox to be bombarded with "borrowed for you" emails!
