I know you bought the Elf, but I saw a good review on YouTube for this Wet N Wild palette.

Thank you! Recommendations are always welcome and I really like the look of this one (as well as the price)!

What about cleaning make up brushes? How often and what do you use?

I'm truly a newbie at this at 56!

Ha, probably not as often as we "should" do them - I do mine maybe once every few months?

I swish mine in the sink with some facial cleanser or shampoo, and then I let them air dry.

Beth, me too! I know I should clean them more often. They say once a week, but I do once every four months lol.

I use Dawn dish soap, and I wipe them over a plastic brush scrubber. I also try to dry them at an angle, using a towel rolled up on one side.

RE neutral eyeshadows, I should have mentioned this one by LA Colors:
https://www.amazon.com/L-Colors-Eyes...dp/B01FIL1WK2/

I don't have it, but I do have the same palette in the blues ("Shady Lady") - it's really nice, and the colors are highly saturated. In fact, now that I think about it, I might get the brown one for myself.

I also picked up this ELF mascara while grocery shopping, and I love it!

It has a great, gloopy-free wand. It's very lengthening and separating, although not as much volumizing if that's what you need (but works well using a primer first). Definitely makes a great everyday mascara.

Beth and Sherry - thank you! I actually have one of those rubber bumpy makeup brush cleaners but have never used it. I bought a pack of them years ago to give as stocking stuffers for my sons' girlfriends and had an extra one.

I ordered the mascara you recommended, Beth. I think I've spent more on makeup in the last month or so than I've spent in my entire life!

Yup, I use dawn dish soap with a plastic brush scrubber, too. I used to clean my brushes every other month or so, but since I've been experiencing dry eyes with menopause , I wash my brushes more frequently now. Maybe every other week?

Lol! I'm pretty basic when it comes to make-up, but I've spent a lot this year in skincare! I've watched too many YT videos from dermatologists about which products to use when and have been more diligent in my skincare routine.
