I'm just going to post updates here for now. I got into the back end Feb 27 so I can't speak to the issues that happened before then, but a 503 is usually a signal of server error so it could have been an issue with the host. Here is a link to a page to see if the host has issues or if maintenance is going on: https://status.liquidweb.com/ (bookmark if you are so inclined).

We got a few 500 errors yesterday. We're occasionally maxing our CPU (90%+ usage) and I'm not sure what is causing that. It's possibly bots crawling the site. AI is wreaking havoc and the forums are public.

I think the site is steady otherwise and the group's next step is to upgrade vB.

To move to the latest iteration of vBulletin we first need to upgrade this version to a minimum of 3.8.11 (we're at 3.8.3 right now), so if you see things looking weird in the next week or so it's because I turned off some customizations to do that, and do intend to add them back afterward.

I owe an apology to a few of you. To resolve CPU/500 errors I rushed to block IP addresses to protect us from being crawled (one bot alone has scraped over 2.5GBs of data the past few months ) and from brute attacks and caught a few of our more loyal visitors in that. It should be resolved now.

Question - I have been hesitating on renewing my VF Support - is everything good to go with that - in other words, will my VF Support pledge get to the right people and the right place?

Thank you for thinking of it, but please hold off on for now (I’m not even sure it would process). We need to get to the newer version of VB so we can properly hook up to pay walls and I do want to work out cert issues and from what I understand right now renewing a user after payment is a manual process.
