Speakin' Of Mr. Yummy Pants

Yes, Bryan is Mr. Yummy Pants, but Rodney Yee can also be known as "The Rod" or "The Package".

Great thread!

and hear I thought lots of new words were invented here only to find out that they do have other origins.

DS, is darling son. I used to use the term hubby, but DH seemed to be the standard here, so I switched to DH.

SO, significant other is another one I see here from time to time.

I'm not sure if I saw this one listed, TIFTT.

SusanP, how does it feel to have words that have originated from you?

Pulling a SusanP is actually one of my favorites.

Hmmmmmm...

I thought that someone happened to spell LOVE incorrectly in a post a couple of years ago (LURVE), and someone else repeated it jokingly, and THEN it started being widely used. Somehow, my data bank remembers that it was either Rainy or Joan. I guess whoever first used it was referring to the Annie Hall wordplay at the time, and I didn't even get it!

From a true SAG,

Lurve history

I have a vague memory of the first usage of Lurve being from Jennifer from Baltimore on the Beginner's check-in. She was definately quoting from Annie Hall. This would have been during the time Rainy was on that check-in so she could have been one of the propagators. I haven't seen Jennifer here for a long time so this would be hard to verify unless Rainy can come up for air and remembers it.

Wasn't me

I don't recall who started using "lurve" but it wasn't me.

Jennifer, I do have a "strange fondness" for ham, but not Smithfield! I collect Swift's Premium and Armour Star vintage ham advertising (among other non ham related vintage advertising - Heinz, Cream of Wheat, Ralston, Zeno Gum, Nabisco). Not that Smithfield Ham isn't delicious. Mmm, I'm getting hungry!
