I do want an opinions that is why I asked

I have had Mary from Total Fitness DVDS send me the entire STS collection plus 2 other Cathe DVDS for less than 5.00.

Advanced Workouts sent me 8 Cathe DVDS with free shipping.

I have had an order of slanted risers, 2 foam roller, and a couple of other items can't remember exactly what it is sent from Muscle Up Canada for 8.00

So no I did not think 11.99 was excessive.

I am not trying to get people to agree with me. I am asking if I am being overly irritated because I no longer have any perspective.

I ment I did not think excessively inexpensive.

I also did not know the weight at the time I ordered.

Should definately preview before sending.

Please note all prices are for shipping, not for the product itself.

Canadians there are reasonable shipping options out there. See the people I have listed. I am sure there are more if we share.

I think that it is quite different for a vendor to ship 8 dvds free than for one to ship something weighting 105 lbs for $11.99. That low shippings seems questionable to me.

I know how expensive shipping can be. I live in Barbados and while Mary does a fabulous job with shipping over here for DVDs when I wanted to order the cardio barre kit shipping was actually over $100.00US and that weighed less than 20lbs.

I wanted to order some mineral powder from larinem and the check out page show 3.95 shipping but then I was told I had to pay additional shipping money and this was for 2 sample size powder.
When this happens I just make the decision whether the product is worth paying all that shipping and handling.

This is just to say I know that I how fustrating this can be

Sorry - I didn't mean to sound snarky when I said 'you wanted our opinions ' I meant it more teasing (like ).

I totally get the frustration about shipping. I'll only pay outrageous shipping if it's something I really want and can't get elsewhere. Luckily we do have some good choices for DVDs now with Mary, Jen, etc.. I have found a couple of good fitness stores locally from which I got slanted risers, high top, and kettlebells.

You're right, I had forgotten about Jen, she's sent things with free shipping to me too. And Mary is very reasonable. But they are (unfortunately, sniff, sniff) exceptional I think. I haven't had nearly such good luck with equipment suppliers. It is actually very expensive to send something bulky or heavy through the mail, even if the vendor does only charge $11.

I absolutely agree! If you have a receipt stating that you paid your order in full (including shipping), I don't understand how they can come back and say "Oops, there was a mistake on our end and now you must pay more." So what if they gave you the option to cancel your order! They should have just sent an email stating that there was a mistake made in shipping calculations, but that they will honor the shipping costs that you were given, but in the future please know that shipping charges will be (insert amount). I think that's just good customer relations and would encourage repeat business.

And as far as people commenting that you should have been suspicious of a low shipping cost, do you honestly think that it's the customer's responsibility to contact the company and say "Don't you think you should be charging me more for shipping as this seems pretty low?" Give me a break!

I agree, Wendy. It's not the customer's responsibility to make sure the shipping price is correct.

I doubt seriously that SNM will make it right.

If it were me, I'd cancel the entire order.

I paid 8.95 or 9.95 for shipping for a stability ball from Cathe. While I thought the shipping was high, I think the quality of the ball is great. I honestly don't think one can expect a Push Pull tower and high step to be shipped for $11.99.

I know the argument here is that they made an error and so they should honor it, but I really would not litigate for this. I would just cancel my order.
