I received a PM from a VFer, and wanted to bump this thread up. the communication eventually gets to the mods, so it's good to bring the subject up again.

You're right, they must be activated in order to actually post. However, you'll see a new weird name appearing in the new member section each day, although they won't necessarily appear in the Community section.
