Alert from exchange mods! Take care when sending Canadian trades!
It has come to the attention of the exchange moderators that Canadian customs have been cracking down on packages that do not strictly follow their regulations in terms of how they are addressed and the customs forms filled out. Those packages are being stopped at customs, and, as the article in the link says, "They will probably eventually make their way back to the sender." But in the meantime there will be two very unhappy traders, especially since to my knowledge there is no way to get any kind of tracking or delivery confirmation. Here is a link to an article with the details: http://www.usps.com/communications/n...ailingtocanada
In case the link breaks again, here is a summary of the instructions: Use typewritten or handwritten (CAPITAL LETTERS) labels. Print Full name of person (not Aunt Ruth) here is an example of the format (postal code comes after country if you have the postal code - which you should): FIRSTNAME LASTNAME NUMBER AND STREET ADDRESS CITY, PROVINCE CANADA POSTAL CODE (always letter, number, letter space number letter number) eg H9W 2P6 Also, it asks that you make sure to indicate what is in the envelope on the customs (green) sticker - gift or present is not good enough. You need to specify used video, workout video, exercise DVD or something like that. If you follow those instructions you should have no problems! Hope that helps! We don't know if these regulations are being used and enforced in other countries. It seems prudent, however, to follow these regulations whenever sending trades internationally, unless your trading partner gives you instructions specific to their country. Happy trading! Exchange Moderators Erin, Felicia, Celia, and Randi Edited to try to fix the link. Wish me luck!
