Well I love my 1 lbers for kickboxing. I have 2 lb each handweights and find them too heavy for kb. I would be really careful with anything ovr 1 lb.

I agree with Hedy (hi, Hedy!)--1 lbers are great, but I avoid anything heavier.

I can't do the speed bag with with my 1lb'ers on. It just feels like a recipe for elbow and shoulder problems down the line. For this reason, I've actually started using the 1lb balls that came with Billy Blank's new videos. I can quickly drop them when the (frequent) speedbag work sections come up. Also, I find that squeezing them helps to work my arms at tiny bit more.

I wound up with a pair of 2# (per glove) weights thanks to a shipping screwup - company refunded my money AND let me keep them due to the cost of returning them; they make lovely doorstops. I don't think I'd want to do anything fast with them, and I'm generally a masochist. I have 1#/glove ironwear gloves, and like 'em for boxing and kickboxing. Wouldn't mind trying 1 1/2#, but wouldn't go over that, personally, and don't even think I'd use them for a long workout.

On the very rare occasion my 2 lbers get used when I rebound. The one time I tried to use them for kickboxing, I felt it in my elbow immediately. Ouchie!
