Mobility

Tell me about Cathy’s Mobility dvd that came with STS.0.
Is it tough? Do you like it and why or why not?
Looking for straight forward mobility workout that I can add after my long walks.

I don’t think it is tough. It’s okay, but I didn’t think it was anything special. I prefer Tracie Long’s Core Movements for similar, but better, mobility work, IMO. Also Essentrics and yoga.

I think at least one person said her previous mobility DVD, part of the series that was one or two series prior to STS 2.0, is better. I don’t have that one.

Another recommendation for the mobility segments of Tracie Long's DVDs, especially Core Movements and the two Signature workouts. IMHO Tracie has more experience with and a greater understanding of mobility work.

If you don't mind streaming, PJ Wren of Fitness with PJ also has several excellent mobility workouts on her YouTube channel.

CDorner Fitness has a 30 day mobility challenge starting October 15th. Workouts will be 8-20 minutes long. You can go to her website for a PDF summary. The classes are free on her YouTube channel.

I liked Cathe’s STS 2.0 Mobility Routines. #1 was less intense. More stretching and ROM movements. #2 was more challenging and included some bodyweight strength moves. Both doable and perfect for recovery days or as an add on to your walking workouts.

STS 2.0 Mobility 1 is the easiest, followed by Mobility 2, and finally P30 Mobility is more of an actual workout. But even that one is much less intense than other Cathe workouts. If I'm really stiff and sore and just need to move my body to loosen up I love the STS ones. If I'm not feeling up to a hard workout and just want to get my heart rate up a little I do P30 Mobility.

I like Cathe’s mobility because they’re short. I prefer to do mobility before a tough (for me) workout as kind of a pre-warmup warmup. My joints feel looser and younger for lack of a better word.
