Testing…

Eta: yay, I can post again. I’ll post a thread about the Bootcamp.
Eta2: darn it. I still can’t start a thread.

Bootcamp was brutal…but fun? I’ve never sweat so much in my life. Dd15 is taking it with me and she’s been a champ! I’ve written a much longer post but I can’t get it to work here.

The first day we were soooo exhausted. The second class was better. The instructor doesn’t really understand that dd is a beginner, so I have to show dd a lot of modifications and ask for lighter weights for her. I’d rather her go a little light and be successful.

The class has so many moves that I normally would skip/avoid. Jump rope, plank jacks, weighted squat press jacks, burpees — so many burpees…just a lot of intense jumping, in general. And running. But I’ve made myself do as much as I can, and it’s not been too bad. Tomorrow should be upper body focus (we had total body endurance Monday, lower body focus Wednesday). The class is 18 sessions, MWF for 1 hr. Also: I am sore in a way that I haven’t been sore in a looonnnng time. My quads — woo boy. Ouch.

The class is at an all-ladies gym. And it’s a serious gym, with tons of space and equipment. I kinda love it, and dd even said she wishes we could be members…but it is 40 minutes from our house. But maybe this will spark dd into wanting to exercise regularly.

Wow, that is awesome! Sounds so tough but I'm glad you enjoyed it and how fun that dd is doing it with you.

Thanks! I’m so glad dd’s enjoying the challenge. And we’re bonding in our shared soreness and misery, haha. She’s an “indoor hobby” kid — art and guitar. Not sporty at all. And the last couple of years have been rough for her body image, so I hope she feels…strong.
