She really only uses dumbbells in her earlier workouts (which are also on DVD); she says to use 2 to 3 pounds max, but they are still challenging even without weights.
To answer your other question, she does have workouts without handstands, however almost all of them have exercises in downdog position. Off the top of my head, her earlier ones like Premier and Born to Move do not have handstands or downdog exercises. I think the only newer ones without handstands are Hawaii Euphoria, Prague Girls, Costa Rica Get Dirty, and San Sebastian Phase 1, but they do have downdog exercises.
