Definitely get yourself an 8kg. I'm not familiar with RKS - what exercises they teach or in what manner/order they teach them - but you definitely need something you can work with to get started. And even if you are swinging that 12 kg in fairly short order, you'll probably enjoy having something lighter to use first time you try cleans, presses, snatches, windmills, TGUs... It'll be a good investment!

I echo the suggestion for Target or Walmart. I started with a 15 pound bell from Target. You will quickly increase your weight so don't worry, that 12kg will get a lot of use soon.... But, there's nothing more disappointing than getting a new workout that you can't use, so go get a lighter bell.
